2020 Pinot Noir, 'Pleasant Hill', Russian River Magnum
Winemaker’s Vineyard Notes: Sustainably farmed, cool climate site, with Goldridge loam soils. Dry, warm winter led to a very early bud break. Very cool spring, August was hot and coupled with smaller crop level pushed the fruit in early. 2.1 tons to the acre. 1/2 clone 115 and 1/2 clone 667.
Winemaker’s Tasting Notes: Stainless steel fermented, aged for 16 months sur lees in 100% French oak, 25% new oak. Dark cherry in color, ripe nose full of Bing cherry cola, honeysuckle and anise. Secondary aromas of orange pekoe tea, violets and a hint of cinnamon. Ripe, medium-bodied flavors of dark cherry, chocolate covered oranges and quince. Finishes long with silky tannins and hints of Satsuma oranges, ripe plum and baker's chocolate.
