2014 Pinot Noir, 'Taylor's Folly', Sonoma Coast Magnum
Vineyard Notes: One of the most storied, prolific vineyards in all of CA. Calera clone and planted by Steve Kistler in the late 90s. South facing, steep sloped, varying soils of alluvial fan and fractured ferrous rocks.
Winemaker's Tasting Notes: Stainless steel fermented. Aged for 16 months sur lees in French oak barrels, with 45% of the barrels being new. Bottled unfined, unfiltered. Darker shades of ruby in color. Complex nose of strawberry jam and cassis, with hints of Asian 5 spice, pumpkin pie, cumin and white pepper. Big mouthful of cassis, red licorice, and tobacco. Long lingering finish, almost suede-like with a touch of mint.
